Students-Engineer-Academy 2018: Interactive project for students at MCD

MCD Elektronik is pleased to continue the cooperation with the "BBQ Berufliche Bildung GmbH" and various schools in the region of Pforzheim. The project "Student Engineer Academy“ is always very important to MCD, because the aim is to promote youth to the field of technology. For this practice-oriented and interactive learning project which takes place on two project days, MCD invited 14 students from the Gymnasium Neuenbürg to Birkenfeld. Here, they experienced live insights into the world of the measurement specialists.

Today, the basics for the upcoming project under the topic "Program your own little weather station" were laid out. The MCD USB Test Board was introduced to the students, which had to be equipped with a temperature sensor and it’s corresponding programming during the project. While the subsequent company tour was supervised by software engineer Marcel Bräuninger and electrical engineer Yannick Rauscher, it was already clear that this day became a very special day for everyone. Through the direct contact with customer-specific test systems and multiple insights into everyday business life, the enthusiastic students were able to experience the work environment of engineers first-hand. After this and instead of dry theory, soldering was on today’s timetable. The temperature sensor was attached to the MCD USB Test Board, which will be programmed next week.

MCD is already looking forward to the second project day on March 02, 2018, when it's time for the "hot" phase of the project.
