Programming their own little weather station gave the participants a lot of fun.

Last week the foundation for this year's Students-Engineer-Academy was laid out with Day 1 of the project „Program your own little weather station". On Day 2, the excitement of the participating students from Gymnasium Neuenbürg was noticeable. But before the students became active, the current MCD students (technical college) Marian Schreieck and Tim Retzlaff as well as trainee Jonas Pfrommer informed about the various possibilities for a technical degree or training at MCD Elektronik.

Afterwards the students had to program a test board and convert the received signal (Volt) into degrees (Celsius). For most of the 14 project participants, this was the first point of contact with the subject of programming. However, they mastered the difficult task with merit. At the end of the day, the participants tested their weather stations with the help of ice water. The enthusiasm of the successful project and the exciting days was not able to be slowed down. MCD is very pleased to have brought the engineering world in 2018 closer to young people through many insights and interesting facts.

At this point, many thanks to our trainee Jonas Pfrommer as well as the two students Tim Retzlaff and Marian Schreieck for the great and passionate organization of the SIA 2018. At MCD Elektronik, the own trainees have to perform the most practical units of the Students-Engineer-Academy by themselves. „So our apprentices learn how to prepare their own educational content for others and assume responsibility at an early stage. We spent a lot of time, passion and energy in these project days, because it is important to promote practice-oriented learning and empower the next generation of tomorrow's employees", comments MCD CEO Bruno Hörter.
