The participants of the "ProBeruf - career guidance at secondary schools" project are happy about this interesting day at MCD.

A direct career guidance and a related youth promotion has a high priority for MCD Elektronik. Therefore, CFO Petra Noske-Mahseredjian welcomed six pupils from the Theodor-Heuss High School in Pforzheim at MCD yesterday. These young people participate in the "ProBeruf - career guidance at secondary schools" project (shortly "ProBerufGym") to get an in-depth overview into their desired occupation. There was a competence analysis at the beginning to filter out possible training professions relating to the participants' strengths.

At MCD, the engaged pupils had the possibility to learn about the professions "IT specialist" and "Office clerk for wholesale and foreign trade". The trial day started with an exciting business game that led the participants through the processes of a company. Software specialist Marcel Bräuninger later guided through the headquarters and explained the development of MCD's test systems together with Yannick Rauscher (Hardware / Software Application). Questions about the internal 3D printers or the test systems exhibited at the showroom were largely answered and showed huge interest by the visitors.

Afterwards, the pupils spent the remaining time in the departments they chose relative to their occupational profile before. MCD's responsible employees received them and helped to familiarized with the respective fields. Three female pupils were involved in a lot of administrative activities, for example logistic procedures, controlling of customer orders or accounting activities. The remaining participants were engaged in solutions of programming tasks at the same time to learn about the work of the development dapartment. At the end, the participants programmed weather stations that were proudly taken home.

MCD wants to thank all of the participants as well as the organizers for this day. Once again, an in-depth overview into professions was enthusiastically given and was clearly visible in the happy faces of the guests.

The "ProBerufGym" project was developed to offer an early and practical vocational orientation and to thereby reduce the dropout rate of training professions. The career guidance at secondary schools is performed by Steinbeis Innovation Center and promoted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. MCD is happy about being a part of this terrific project.
