MCD Elektronik presents a new test system for production lines
Birkenfeld, February 10th 2015: At the beginning of 2015, the metrology specialist MCD Electronics announces a new high-performance tester. There is an automatic function tester with fully automatic software application for examination of head units within the production lines of automotive suppliers. Referred to as a Head Unit in the automotive sector, this is a central unit, which also includes the audio processing, MP3 decoding and graphic control of the CPU. It is also an interface between man and machine, combining the functions of the radio, navigation system and driver assistance system in an operating unit, the so-called infotainment system.
The new inspection system of MCD Electronic carries out functional testing of USB, WiFi and Bluetooth components, as well as specialized analog and digital measurements of tuner, AM, FM, DAB and satellite channels. Also, GPS, and review of video signals, fan features, network interfaces, optical power and MOST communication can be accurately tested by the automatic function tester.
"A specially designed universal board minimizes the wiring in our function tester. This saves working time and reduces errors and defect material potential. “, says CEO Bruno Hoerter. The software detects free test potential and optimizes the test run automatically. Thus, an individual employee can use all four test stations at the same time. „Our new, automated functional tester is the result of over thirty years of experience in test and measurement technology and the long-term cooperation with various manufacturers in the automotive industry. It is optimally designed for integration into production lines“, says development engineer Gabor Tinneberg at the product launch event.
