Stress Testing for Power Electronica

MCD successfully completed works on a test system for simultaneous testing of two power electronics with active cooling.

Features:

  • Heated are inverter power electronics for air conditioned compressors and then are extremely fast cooled down to recognize errors on soldier joints and semi conductors during stress variations
  • The electronic parts are supplied with 120V power supply
  • The communication and the reading of the PCB temperature is controlled via CAN-BUS
  • Other test item components are monitored over temperature sensors to observe limits
  • The complete stress testing takes about 30 min

Components:

  • 38HE Rack
  • Industrial Computer
  • USV data protection
  • Fixture designed for standing work position
  • External liquid cooling system
  • Test software TestManager CE

Specialty:

The test system RunIn is particularly characterized by high-performance liquid heat sinks with an active cooling of the connected loads.

It is also possible to regulate the cooling capacity quickly and to adapt the test sequence to all possible thermal stress conditions over variable parameters such as time, temperature, and number of cycles.
