A corporate visit took place where district administrator Karl Roeckinger, in cooperation with the economic represantative of the Enzkreis, Kerstin Monasso, and the mayor of Birkenfeld, Martin Steiner came to see MCD Elektronik in the new inter-municipal industrial park "Dammfeld" in Birkenfeld. They received a tour where they were informed about the products and distribution channels of MCD. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology-funded product development - the "Universal Low Cost System" (ULC) was of particular interest.
It was stressed by Mr. Roeckinger that MCD Elektronik is a flagship company in the region. To compliment the company, Mr. Roeckinger awarded MCD the Ferdinand-von-Steinbeis Medal underscoring the commitment of CEO Bruno Hoerter to his customers, employees and business development in the Enz Region. Ferdinand von Steinbeis was considered a pioneer of the Economic Development and founder of the Württemberg industry.
