For an automobile manufacturer MCD has developed a test system for level sensors and has put it into operation. The system proves non-contact angle sensors, which are used among others in the headlight range adjustment or for electronic brake pedals in vehicles.
The objective, for example for the headlight range adjustment-sensors, is that the driver gets the optimum illumination on the road, without dazzling preceding or oncoming drivers. In order to ensure reliability they are tested in a real time operational environment controlled by precision motors. The test is carried out over the complete measuring range of 360°. The test system is planned for a detailed creation of measurement results and developed for a universal use. This allows a testing of a large number of different level sensors by using this system.
