Special test system examines housing tightness

Published on: 18.03.2016 Category: Products Products

The test system examines tightness of so called vehicle flap actuators.

This test system was developed for a supplier from the automotive industry for the testing of housing tightness of mechatronic assemblies. Due to a two-fold test by overpressure and vacuum before and after mounting a sealing ring, complete tightness of vehicle flap actuators is ensured and documented, as well as the function of the shaft seals.

Special advantages of this system are the integration of mounting and a modular test setup. By usage of the universal tester MCD ULC rack various DUTs can be tested in the same test system. A future testing of further DUT types is allowed by a drawer concept with changeable cartridges. Furthermore, the special test system combines the mounting of a sealing ring with an automatic tightness test, which is faciliated by a linear axis system with two servo axis inside the testing cell.

Controlling of the test system takes place semi-automatically. The operator has to insert a sealing ring and a flap actuator before every single test run. The specific DUTs and their test sequences are selected via a handheld scanner and various barcodes. Failure labels for NIO parts are automatical generated by an integrated label printer. These DUTs are disposed by a NIO slide.
