MCD celebrates 25 Year existence – with customized measurement technique on the road to
success 1983, exactly 25 years ago the foundation of a successful high-tech company was established. Because four young men had a vision: Products which are worldwide applicable and stand qualitatively over all competitors products.
Initially, in their spare time they developed an attenuator to control the high frequent gauge of transmit and testing equipments. After many hours of hard work developing and testing, their vision became a reality. An attenuator with unbelievable durability and accuracy originated. In order to market their product, they established in 1983 the sole-proprietorship “MC Elektronik”, with seat in Dobel. In 1984 the company “MC Elektronik” was changed to a limited liability company. Because the initials “MC” were protected, the letter “D” like Dobel was added and so the company “MCD Elektronik GmbH” originated and was entered into the Commercial Registry. At this time it was already clear that the manufacturing of the attenuator was only the beginning. Already then the men had a passion for developing customer specific measurement technology. MCD placed itself to the task of developing innovative measurement instruments and test systems, based on customer requests. And frequently measured variables from which to beginning of a project no one believed it could or should be measured. Over time the makers of MCD have developed a nose for “tough projects”. Automotive companies and automotive suppliers, among well-known company names like Continental, Siemens or Harman/Becker, form todays emphasis of the industry. We supply to 18 countries. The developing of their own hard-and software incidentally lead MCD onto a straight road of success. However, the countless hours of work, day and night, was taking it's toll. Shortly after the successful start of the company two of their founders left. From this time on MCD was managed together by Bruno Hoerter and Siegfried Treiber for many years. In 2000 another branch in Birkenfeld emerged. Siegfried Treiber managed the location in Dobel and Bruno Hoerter took over the organization and leadership in Birkenfeld. In 2002 MCD received the quality certification in accordance to ISO 9001:2000. Due to a tragic traffic accident, the co-founder Siegfried Treiber died in 2003. Hereupon the two locations were merged together and transfered to Birkenfeld. The company “MCF Technologie GmbH” in Ettlingen goes back to the year 2006. The CEO's of the company are Patrick Volz and Bruno Hoerter. The same year the subsidiary “MCD North America Inc.” in the USA was founded. Since the lease of a building in January this subsidiary is active and operating in Novi, Michigan.. Additionally, a few years ago the companies “HT Elektronik” and “MHGT Elektronik” in Birkenfeld were established. These companies support MCD in the trading sector and the circuit board division.

MCD Elektronik GmbH was born in 1983 to realize an idea. An idea no one believed than it could
work. Our first design: An attenuator adjusting the output levels on HF transmitters.
Today our technicians and engineers realize customer specific electronic control- and test systems for
a world wide application. Our team focuses on developing, planing, software and service. The
requirements of our customers are often bordering technical feasibility.

Today, a good 70 employees are working for the MCD group. 40 of which are with MCD Elektronik
GmbH, 20 with MCF Technologie GmbH, 4 employees are with MCD North America Inc., as well as 5
employees are with MHGT Elektronik and HT Elektronik. For the year 2008 a total revenue of 15
million Euro is expected. MCD not only offers modern resolutions in areas of measurement
technique, but also cares about the offspring. Training is offered to become IT-specialists in system
integration, as well as in software integration. Additionally, we train whole sale and export (experts)
apprentice, as well as sales and office communications apprentice. BA academic programs in area of
communications engineering are also offered. Internships in marketing, communications engineering
or informatics are offered to take up employment. in these industries.
